2024 Class Offerings
The Willamette Heritage Center – and the Salem Fiberarts Guild – is pleased to offer two weaving classes fit for all skill levels. A weaving class at the Willamette Heritage Center includes up to four days during one month of one-on-one instruction and are typically held on Thursdays. Weaving students can expect to start class in 1 – 3 months after registration is complete and is subject to availability.
No experience required.
Must be 16 years or older to register.
Beginning Weaving Class
Learn to weave!
The beginning weaving class is for students with no previous floor loom experience who want to launch into a new adventure. Learn about warping, loom parts, how patterns work, and how to warm and weft work together in the weaving process. Your instructor will guide you through warping and weaving a scarf for your first project.
Days: Thursdays 10 am – 3 pm 4 weeks
Tuition: $200
Weaving 1
Reconnect with your weaving passion!
Been a few years since you got to weave? Just inherited a loom? Weaving 1 is for those with some floor loom experience who want to revisit the warping and weaving process alongside an instructor. A refresher course, if you will! You will pick a project with the instructor but supply your own materials.
Days: Thursdays 10 am – 3 pm 4 weeks
