Life Story Alex McGee worked briefly at TKWM in the finishing room. He was the son of superintendent Patrick McGee.

Alexander Edward McGee was born on 28 Nov 1887 in Oregon City, Oregon to Patrick and Honora [McCarthy] McGee. The family moved with father Patrick to Albany, Brownsville, and finally Salem, where Patrick managed woolen mills. From August 1903 until April 1904, Alex worked at the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill in the finishing room.

Alex served in the 115th U.S. Engineers during World War I. The physical description on his draft card recorded him as a short man with slender build, dark brown hair, and light brown eyes. Alex enlisted on 26 June 1918 and was discharged on 10 July 1919. After the war, he lived in California, then Mexico, and Arizona with his brother Charles.

He died on 11 June 1942 at the age of 54. He was buried in Los Angeles National Cemetery in accordance with his military service during WWI.
