Story  Archie Shrum worked at TKWM as a weaver and loom fixer from 1915 to 1924. His wife Hulda also worked at the Mill. 

Archie Melvin Shrum was born to Frank C and Alice D Shrum 14 Jun 1882 in Salem, OR. He took work at the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill in 1915. Future wife Hulda Zwicker also worked at the Mill, it is unknown whether they met thru their work. The couple married 12 Jun 1910 at the home of Hulda’s brother Otto in Salem, OR. The couple were the parents of six children. Both worked in the woolen mill industry their entire lives. 

By 1930, the family had moved to Washougal, WA where Archie had taken work at the Washougal Woolen Mill. They remained here until 1942, when they moved back to the Portland area for work at the Foundation Worsted Co. Mill. Both Hulda and Archie worked in the weaving department for both mills until retirement.  

Hulda died 4 Apr 1957. Archie followed on 30 Aug 1962. They were buried at Skyline Memorial Garden in Portland, OR.
