Story  Augusta “Gussie” Zwicker worked for TKWM from 1905-1910 as a dyer and later, a weaver. Her brother Otto and sister Hulda also worked for TKWM. 

Augusta Otilllie Zwicker was born 15 July 1892 in Salem, OR. One of eleven children born to German immigrant parents George and Clara [Hubrich] Zwicker. The family came to Oregon in 1889-1892 and settled in Dutchtown, an area off 25th St. in Salem named for the large number of German families that lived there.  

When she began work for the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill in 1905, she moved closer to the Mill and boarded at 2582 Lee St. with her sister Hulda. Augusta married Henry Ralph Negstad, a Norwegian butcher, 31 May 1911 in Salem. They were the parents of one child. They were later divorced. Then Augusta married Anton William Porath 14 Sep 1946 in Portland, OR.  She died 23 Apr 1976 in Salem, OR a week after sister Tillie. She was buried in Riverview Abbey Mausoleum in Portland, OR with her first husband.
