This series of 35 mm slides appear to be a chronicle of one person’s trip on the Shasta Daylight, embarking at the depot in Salem, Oregon.  The Shasta Daylight was a passenger train run by the Southern Pacific that made regular runs between Oakland, California and Portland, Oregon starting in 1949.  The captions of the photos were taken from the slides.  Willamette Heritage Center Collections 1992.006.0001.
