Thanks to the generosity of community members, the Willamette Heritage Center has a robust collection of museum and library materials. With such a large collection, we must be deliberate and thoughtful in our acceptance of donations. To that end, items offered to the museum go through a review process by our Museum Advisory Committee, made up of individuals from the historic community qualified to assess the items, their relevance to the scope of collection policy, and whether the museum has the necessary preservation resources (staff time, storage space, budget, and materials) to care for the item. The committee meets monthly to discuss objects offered to the museum.

Materials without a provenance to Salem and/or Marion County are rarely accepted. Please use this map for reference to Marion County boundaries and towns.
