Story             Little information is available for E Nuttall, the weaver named in the 1890 Capital Journal article. There is no record of his living in Salem around the time of the article (1890).

However, there was a weaver named Edward Nuttall working in the Oregon City Woolen Mills in 1896 and he may have been the earlier TKWM weaver. This Edward was born in 1853 in England and immigrated to the United States in the 1870s (census reports have conflicting dates). He married Leannah C Nuttall of George in 1885. Their first two children were born in Texas and the remaining in Oregon. The family owned their own home in the Canemah, Clackamas County area. Edward worked as a weaver for several years in the Oregon City Woolen Mills, a general laborer, and barker in the paper mill according to census records. They purchased property in Newberg in 1920

Leannah passed away in 1931 and Edward in 1936. Both are buried at the Friends Cemetery in Newberg, OR.
