Emma Youren Printz was born 22 Jan 1866 in Lima, Ohio, to English immigrant John Youren and Doretta Park, originally from Baden, Germany. On 25 Dec 1888, she married John J. Printz in Mahoning County, Ohio.  

In 1900, lived in Springfield, Ohio, with her husband John, their two daughters, Doretta and Mary, and her father-in-law, Henry. By 1905, the family had relocated to Salem, Oregon, where Emma and John both worked at the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill – Emma as a burler and John as an engineer. Their daughters, along with a grandson, lived with them.  

By 1920, Emma was no longer employed at the mill but remained in Salem, where John continued to work. Daughter Mary Eva lived with them. In 1930, the couple still resided in Salem, and another grandson, Robert D. lived in their household. 

Emma passed away on 18 Nov 1930, at the age of 64 from pernicious anemia and was buried at Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem. Her husband John passed away on 5 Mar 1935, and was laid to rest beside her.
