With the help of the Statesman Journal we were able to run this photo in last Sunday’s (October 20, 2013) paper. We received this photo in 1997, but have no idea who the individuals are. The caption reads: “The Galloners. Salem Rec. Comm.” We think the individuals are probably receiving pins for giving over a gallon of blood. Thanks to calls from Bob and Muriel, we are also starting to put names to faces. The man on the far right might just be Dr. Willard Stone who worked as a health department officer about that time period. The man that is standing third from the right may be Bill Leeper (William J. Leeper), who managed Commercial Book Store in downtown Salem. Do you recognize anyone? Let us know.
