She was born 26 Dec 1875 in Salem, OR to parents John and Ellen [Cromley] Green. She attended Salem Public Schools along with her two sisters and brother, then took work as a housekeeper the death of her father in 1894. At this point in time, Lillian moved back into the family home at 1027 S. 12th St. in Salem and went to work for the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill in the weaving department. She would remain at the mill for nearly 50 years and live in the family home until her death. 

An FBI application filled out in 1940 gives a few additional details. The background check and fingerprinting were required of all millworkers involved in government contracts for the war effort. At age 65 she listed her height as 5’2” and weight at 124 lbs. Her hair was gray, and her eyes were blue. She had a fair complexion and slim build. 

Lillian died 28 Aug 1952 in Salem Memorial Hospital, from a blood clot. We also learn from her death certificate that she was exhibiting signs of senility prior to her death. She was buried in Salem Pioneer Cemetery.
