With all the news of extreme winter weather this week, we thought this photo cataloged today by Volunteer Doug was very timely. Glad we aren’t having to deal with that winter weather.
The image (WHC 2002.026.0002) shows Miller’s Department Store (a.k.a. Reed Opera House building) at the SW corner of Court Street and Liberty Streets in Salem in 1936 during what the photographer owner captioned the “Big Snow.”  Snow leveled the awnings that usually hung outside the building.
