Paul Raveaux worked as a spinner at TKWM from 1904 – 1906 along with brother Louis and sisters Rose and Mary. He also played on the TKWM baseball team in 1906.
Paul Leo Raveaux was born 6 December 1887 in White Lake, South Dakota. One of five children born to Leopold and Mary Ann [Laurence] Raveaux. He received an 8th grade education along with his siblings in Salem, OR. Then he took work at the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill along with his older brother Louis. He worked in the spinning department. After his father Leopold’s death in 1909, Paul left Salem with other Raveaux family members and sought work in Portland. He took a job in construction, as a general laborer. He married Grace Alberta Benedict on 22 Sep 1912 in Portland, OR. They were later divorced. He died 23 June 1954 in Portland, Washington, OR at age 66 from a heart attack. At the time of his death, he was an iron worker in the Iron Mills. He had lived in Portland 47 years. He was buried in the Raveaux family plot in St. Barbara’s [Catholic] Cemetery in Salem, OR along with his parents and brothers. |
