
Salem residents on Pogo Sticks as published in the Oregon Magazine February 1922. (WHC Collections 2008.038.0018)
Murray Wade, editor of the Oregon Magazine and well-known political cartoonist in Salem, made a bold claim in the February 1922 edition of his magazine (WHC 2008.038.0018). In the caption to the above image he wrote: “The pogoist with the top-coat is Ye Editor, who was the first to infest Oregon with “Pogo” sticks.”
