The public is invited to a free lecture, “Slavery, Oregon Statehood and Asahel Bush” by Oregon historian Barbara Mahoney. The event will be held:

Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 7:00 pm at the Loucks Auditorium at the Salem Public Library.

Ms. Mahoney will discuss the impact the Slavery issue had on Oregon Statehood and Asahel Bush’s role in the debate as editor of the Oregon Statesman newspaper.
The event is sponsored by the Bush House Museum, Salem Art Association and the Salem Public Library.
