The Yamhill County Historical Society‘s most recent newsletter (November 2011, Volume 43, Issue 10) has an article on the St. Anthony’s Chapel Car that brought the Catholic Church to rural communities in Oregon. The chapel car was a converted Pullman capable of seating sixty people with a library, sitting room, kitchen and berths. The article gives a great description of the car from the perspective of a 12 year old Harriet D. Munnick.
