Need activities to keep the young ones entertained this summer?

No matter your family composition, we invite you to our new summer program for 6 – 14-year-olds and their grown-ups! But any age is welcome!

One adult must be present with each group attending.

Participating in Family Fun Fridays will spark curiosity and foster a love for learning in both kids and grown-ups, all while having a great time together – as a family! Our fun and engaging lessons will ensure this.

Registered groups can access museum exhibits on lesson days through our self-guided tour. This ensures you and your youngsters get a well-rounded experience that promotes togetherness. Plus, you can learn all about our resources!

For six consecutive Fridays, starting July 12, 2024, we’re offering a series of interactive lessons. These engaging sessions will cover various fascinating topics, including learning about:

• the Kalapuya
• the pre-Oregon statehood era
• the journey of fiber to fabric
• archaeology

Every family has their own unique rhythm, so we’ve designed our program to be flexible, allowing time to arrive early, stay late, or even make a day of it! The museum is open from 10 AM to 4 PM, giving you the freedom to enjoy museum exhibits before or after your scheduled lesson for the day.

Pack a picnic and a blanket to enjoy on our lawn or picnic benches, or treat yourself to lunch at our on-site café, Taproot Old Mill Café.

Pre-registration is highly encouraged as there is limited space. Day of participants are only permitted if space is available.

We are offering a scholarship to participate in the Family Fun Fridays educational program for families eligible for free museum admission with a Snap/Oregon Trail Card. For more information, families should email the Education Manager at Education@willametteheritage.org.
